Greenhouse Gardening Extends Your Growing Season And Pleasure
Greenhouse gardening can add so much to your gardening experience. I've had several small greenhouses over the years, and I can't begin to tell you how much pleasure I get from a greenhouse. I currently am using the model shown in the picture for several purposes. I use it to start seedlings and bedding plants in late Winter and early Spring. We also over winter hanging pots and patio pot plants. It gets a little crowded during the winter, but it is such fun to bring out perfect plants early in the spring.I start tomatoes in the fall for fresh tomatoes in winter. I have been using more determinate varieties in this small greenhouse because of limited space. The Patio Variety has done very well for us. Pictures of it on this site are no exaggeration. They really are heavy producers on small vines.
Indeterminate tomatoes are usually considered best for greenhouses and there are many agricultural websites offering information on greenhouse tomatoes.I also have successfully grown spinach and Swiss chard in the green house.
